The man’s 17-year-old daughter allegedly admitted to cops that the baked goods contained marijuana. She said she left them out because she figured no one would touch them, according to The Smoking Gun. Her father did go to the hospital, but has been released and is doing fine.
The names of neither the man nor his daughter, who live in Independence Township, have been released.
Police told ClickOnDetroit that the brownies have tested positive for marijuana. McCabe said the girl will be prosecuted and “she’s not going to get it light.”

I see an absurd law being used to destroy a young person's life for the simple mistake of not telling her father (probably a fool that would have punished her for having the pot brownies) the cookies were special. She simply should have kept them away from her straight daddy.

Ummm. They don't appear to have been that harmless. They made dad sick. If dad had been drug tested at work, he could have lost his job for a drug he unknowingly took.The daughter did something illegal. There will be consequences as there should be.

But it was harmless. He just had a panic attack and obviously had never smoked before. Also he has to now pay no doubt an expensive hospital bill and lawyer/court fees for his daughter. Good going, dad

How is this remotely dad's fault? If you have never smoked pot and do not know the side effects you may have similar issues and panicked.

Even in states where using pot is legal, it is illegal for a minor. So there is no sympathy here, she was stupid and thus doesn't need any more government help like financial aid. Let that aid go to those who understand what a future means.

Her life is ruined, so at the very least I hope the father purchases some guns and ammunition for her so she can make her way in the world.
