Sad, very sad. I cannot imagine the pain of seeing my precious dog killed like that.

On another note, wtf is with the "registered service dog to help with his anxiety over his father's death"? Seriously?

And a little more to the story
Upon knocking on the door of dog owners dog is barking and growling
The owner allowed the dog out...dog actually pushed past him
One officer tried to pet dog...dog ignored him... dog ran at other officer who retreated.. then shot dog

Video is available

Lots of ginned up support...
Who here wants to engage an unknown pit bull

Owner should have controlled dog
Sad... will get repeated

NotMe - I gotta differ w/ya on this one. A 75lb dog is not a 400lb pet silverback gorilla. I know a guy who had one that guarded his private airport & needless to say never had a single break-in. The dog could have been peppered as they have 100x the smell humans do. You spray a dog in the face w/ 5,000 scoville pepperpray & that dog will be in more pain than you can imagine...but he'd be alive. The officer over reacted. Hell, discharging his pistol would scare the #$%& out of the dog.

When did they start turning pitbulls into service dogs?

I don't blame the office for shooting. Restrain your dog!
