This man Anthony Ray Hinton was tried, found guilty and jailed for years for a crime he couldnt possibly have committed many years ago.., the gun used in two shootings wasnt the mans gun and this could easily have been found out.. also he was at work when the crimes happened... but he was poor and black.I had posted this on the Alabama threads and thought it had been taken off .. so this now is another post on the same subject , sorry about this..

Reason: double post
Generally speaking i have very little faith in the fairness of the American judicial process with the way the deck is stacked in the favor of the state, the incestuous nature of most judge/prosecutor relationships, how most prosecutors are only interested in winning not justice, and how police are only interested in closing cases not finding the truth. So finding out almost on a daily basis guys are in jail for crimes they never committed is not a surprise
The justice system begins with the police. Depending on how uneducated, untrained, incompetent, lazy, corrupt, biased the cops involved in the case are, the accused could face an uphill legal battle to clear his name.
These days though DNA forensics makes wrongful convictions less common.
Thanks for answering my post .. and your right in what you say...
Indeed.....Its very sad
