"The Subject Chicken McNugget constituted an unreasonably dangerous product when put to use for which it was intended." So read court documents filed yesterday by Zebadiah Anderson in relation to a nugget he consumed at a Chicago McDonald's in May 2013. The Cook County resident claims that it contained bone shards that injured him to the point where he had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital.

I will bet money that most here would take the side of McDonalds. Assuming the allegations are true, I guess this fellow got transported by ambulance to the hospital, just to position himself for a future lawsuit. What a conniving scumbag.

I see Tyson listed in the defendants list. I cannot agree or disagree with the amount as I saw none listed, but perhaps this will make Tyson up their quality control on their breaded chicken, I had to stop buying Tyson nuggets and other supposedly boneless breaded chicken as on a few occasions I found pieces of bone within. Contacting Tyson on each occasion resulted in the stock response of, "Sorry for the inconvenience, here have a $2 coupon." Last time I told them to stuff their coupon in a fairly specific place because if they can't be arsed to make sure the boneless chicken is in fact boneless, I can't be arsed to play chicken roulette.

It was also shaped like a gun which is illegal in many Democratic Liberal cities like Chicago.

Who cares what it was...if it injured his mouth (because something was in it that shouldn't have been), he deserves compensation.

Compensation depends on the injury, of course.. But I basically agree.

Frankly, if it had cut his lip up a bit, I'd say a $10 gift certificate would be sufficient.

The fact that he had to go to the hospital raises the bar.. Assuming he didn't go to the hospital for a bloody lip.

If he's going after a million.. Way out of line. Hospital bills covered.. If there's a marginal extra amount in there.. I'm ok with that.

I ate at Corky's in Memphis a number of years ago.. Ordered a beer with the meal.. Chipped lip of the bottle tore a gash in my lip. They were very apologetic.. Comped my meal, which I felt was more than sufficient.. the only bad part was that I had ordered the dry rub ribs.. Lots and lots of cayenne on an open cut in the mouth.. Still ate 'em..
