Omaha officer, volunteer, new mom killed on duty - CNN.com

At least the thug was killed too. We can only hope he died before she did.

That's terrible. We are short on good cops, honest politicians, and caring, involved parents. When any of these people are stolen, it's a loss to us all.

She sounds like a great person.
And one who put herself out there for her community.
Sadly her newborn will never know her

RIP and thank you to the heavens for serving and protecting.
And prayers to the family members she left behind.

Its something there, Mack

Had your thread been officer kills someone, it would be pages long
It is an eye opener that the ones who are ready to jump on Police Officers backs are not mature enough to recognize this Police Officer and her family.

Interesting.
It really shows the Psyche and immaturity that flies around CD. And the sick cop hating agenda

This story is devastating ... gunned down just hours before she was to start her maternity leave. If the bullet had struck her just half an inch lower it would have been stopped by her vest.

As the brother of a cop, and as a friend of several others this is one of my worst nightmares

SO true. And I agree.

Terrible tragedy for her family.

Violent Thug who is alleged to have killed this police woman. Apparently he had already been in much trouble with the law though typically the "baby mama" says he is a good boy.

Yuck, here is another:

HANO officer shot, killed while patrolling Central City construction site, NOPD says | NOLA.com

NOPD also can't say whether the officer had been directly targeted. "We don't know what happened, and we don't want to speculate," Harrison said. The New Orleans coroner's office will perform an autopsy to determined the exact cause and time of death.
