People should really read the articles before assuming the OP's spin is 100% correct.

Mr. Shell, a bounty hunter, was dispatched by the court to serve a warrant to Howard at his home. Shell never entered the home. He knocked. Lead started flying. Both men were hit. Shell claims Howard shot first.

You don't get it.
Howard wasn't executed, and he wasn't executed without a trial.
Randy Howard died because of the decisions he made, including the state he chose to live in. If he had made any choice differently, he would be alive today.

Would you expect to be arrested if you drive drunk? And if you were arrested because you drove while drunk, would you expect no trial? Would you expect you wouldn't have to repay the bail to get you out of jail after arrest? Would you not expect the bail bond company to come looking for you?

I'm sure you're are an upstanding citizen who would never do any of that, because, in part, you know they all have legal consequences as well as being dishonest. Why are you blind to Randy Howard's dishonesty?

People shouldn't be killed over a DUI or substance abuse warrant.
Ya, so we have more reason to hate the cops, right?

I'm too. Why would anyone confuse authority worship with just don't break the law and if you do know that there may be severe consequences?

No, YOU dont get it. Randy Howard did a few DWIs. Most people will agree that he did not deserve to be shot to death for a DWI.

Bounty hunters are not the law and if an actually professional law officer did apprenhend Howard he prolly woulda paid a fine, not shot to death.

By your logic, we can run down jay walkers.

So, in areas where police aren't actively going around spending their time hunting down non-violent offenders with warrants who would possibly offer a bail bond to someone?
The mortgage companies and the banks loan people money all the time, they have absolutely no right to send in their own private army to collect. No reason why the bail bond companies should be getting special treatment.

What is your solution to the whole "bail issue"? Serious question. Anybody?

(I read further and several states have banned bail bondsmen so it's feasible. The state would then just need to be sure not to screw people over by making it hard\impossible for the poor to bond out)
I don't see a "bail issue". There's no issue. I do see a huge problem with groups of poorly trained (in use of force and in legal issues and in defusing the situation - I am sure they are trained to shoot and wrestle) and poorly regulated armed yahoos running around breaking in people's homes because they believe that a person who jumped the bail may be hiding there, every now and then killing someone by mistake or getting shot by police or shooting a family dog. This has no place in a XXI century developed Western democracy. It's a holdover from Wild West times and it needed to be outlawed 50 years ago. No other developed country has this and they all some sort of a system allowing people to stay out of jail before trial. I doubt that Canada, Germany or Great Britain are either crime free or have people jumping court dates all the time.
