If you're careful and comparison shop, you can do quite well at Whole Foods. For a couple of things I buy regularly, they are the rock-bottom price of all the nearby stores. This is mainly due to the fact that you can get a 10% discount on a case of ANYTHING, but their house brand products are pretty well-priced. Granted, none of this is stuff you can't live without. It's all indulgences, not necessities.
Unless they're having an amazing special, I usually do not darken the door of Whole Foods more than once every 4-5 weeks. I bounce in, get my 1-2 cases of whatever, and I'm out.
