As usual, a total lack of empathy or even slight ability to know what empathy is.
Humans. . . . .once we lose the foundation of what makes us human, all, including centuries of technological advances and civilization will be lost as we become more of a threat to each other than any amount of climate change, lack or resources or virus could be.
The student said the patient 'consented' to the pictures, which would be in doubt as there is only her word for that. But if the woman had said no, she couldn't have stopped her and the student could have just taken them anyway. Consent or not, it wasn't right. As for putting them on social media, isn't that why most people take selfies in the first place? Not buying her denial for a minute.
I used to work in health care and I can't tell you the number of patients who told me that while they were in the hospital or nursing home that the staff were yacking on their cell phones while attending to them while passing meds, doing physical therapy, and even bathing them! Sadly, nothing surprises me. Such cold, uncaring people.

Wow. She's just one person and she's rightly being blasted from all sides for doing it. It's not Armageddon yet.
Well, if this is in a U.S. hospital then there could be serious implications for this student who has violated the HIPPA rules regarding taking photos of patients. Serious fines for the facility and reprimand up to termination of staff violators is not unheard of.
Waiting for the "she didn't do anything wrong" crowd to chime in.
