Loser... Communication

When A Terrorism Drill Turns Deadly

A security drill carried out at Nairobi’s Strathmore University Monday was supposed to prepare the campus for the possibility of a deadly terrorist attack. Instead, it practically turned into one: At least one staff member died and dozens of students and staff were injured — several critically — after they jumped out of windows to avoid what they perceived to be an actual terrorist ambush.

...
Last April, extremist gunmen affiliated with the al-Shabab terrorist group stormed Garissa University in eastern Kenya and systematically slaughtered Christian students. When the shooting stopped, more than 150 people, including the gunmen, lay dead. And in September 2013, al-Shabab gunmen stormed the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, killing more than 60.

Yeah - so people who were unaware, were obviously spooked that this was the real thing.

If you're going to have drill, especially one for a serious subject like terrorism, I would think it wise to let everybody in on the game.

Make it realistic, but don't tell the students & faculty. What could possibly go wrong?

Only an idiot jumps to their death. If I'm standing at the window sill and my option is jump to a certain death, or face a gunman and possible death, I'll choose the latter........

I agree.

Seems to be a good example of 'jumping to a conclusion'.

Well if you thought death would come as someone sawed your head off on TV you just might jump and deny a terrorist that ultimate victory.

Fire is a different motivator than fire power, people survive gunshots every day, not too many head impacts on concrete survive, same goes for fire that is licking one half of your body.......

My exact thoughts. The lack of humanity on these forums is disgusting sometimes.
