This patron is cheap. If he was really behaving in a Christian way he would have left some money with that message masquerading as a $20.

Kansas waiter's $20 tip was actually a Bible pamphlet | www.ajc.com

Not very christian like at all. Seems like a cruel practical joke.

The patron could have easily left a monetary tip and could have verbally told the server the message he wanted to deliver.

I don't consider it very Christian like to take someone's labor and not pay them for it. In fact, I'd call that stealing. Being a server is a tough job and tips are the vast majority of their compensation. I really don't have patience for people who want to eat out and not tip appropriately.

Pretty obnoxious, but a little strange how this made the news.

It always seems like little tid bits like this that go viral make a news story somewhere.

This reminds me of when the Clampett's went out to dinner at a restaurant...Jethro says, "Uncle Jed, ain'tcha gonna give the waiter no tip?" And Uncle Jed says, "Oh yeah...plant ya corn early!"

But seriously...it would have been better for the patron to leave nothing than to leave a fake $20. That's just...rude, cruel, unmannerly, miserly, uncouth, unthoughtful......*smh*

This reminds me of what my ex would joke about when I'd jokingly ask for a tip, "don't fry bacon naked." However we would never seriously do this...

On our first date, wife told me one of the reasons she fell in love with me is I was a good tipper. Said if I didn't leave a nice tip, she would have never went out with me again.

I go out with 2 or 3 girlfriends for brunch a few times a year. It's practically the only time we get to be together so we spend a long time catching up over our food. I always at least double my tip because the waitress has lost business at this table because we've been hogging it too long. The most wealthy gal who comes leaves the smallest tip, making sure not to go over whatever percent she determines. I always feel embarrassed.

If I ever left any information of any sort, I would still leave $ with it. Waitresses and servers are on their feet a lot and I appreciate their service. I know they don't get paid a huge hourly wage.

People who are fulfilling the Great Commission are not playing practical jokes, they are trying to spread the Word. Unfortunately, this particular person did it in a way that would be off-putting, rather than encouraging, to a potential believer.

The best way would have been to leave a cash tip along with the tract.
