A teenager posing as a state senator toured a high school and spoke to a class, and school officials didn't realize they were fooled until weeks later, authorities in Ohio said.
Mohawk Local School District officials said Izaha Akins, of Marion, Ohio, visited the high school in December and claimed to be a lawmaker replacing another senator. They realized they'd been duped when Republican Sen. David Burke, of Marysville, showed up to speak weeks later, as scheduled.
Did this kid look old enough to be a state senator? Of course, he was actually not pretending to be the senator, but his replacement speaker, I guess.
Mr. Akins is charged with one count each of impersonating a peace officer and telecommunications fraud, both felonies.
Can you even walk to the neighborhood store without being arrested for half a dozen felonies in this country? Too many overzealous prosecutors looking to make an example of anyone who should find themselves not in accordance with the 80 million laws on the books and potentially ruining a barely-started life over a prank that harmed nothing.
It's so ridiculous, it's hilarious and belongs in a movie like "Animal House" although it would be pretty tame for that. I miss the days when kids could be stupid, pull pranks and still be considered kids. I'd give the kid some community service, but to be on the safer side... I probably wouldn't allow him to make speeches to the other kids.
So they are used to actual Representatives calling and making arrangements to speak? Don't their assistants/secretaries usually make all the arrangements? And where did the car pick him up from?

The authorities were tipped off when his speech made sense and the kid actually sounded like he had a brain. They knew he must be an imposter.
