This is what we have been fearing for sometime now more of these are making the news.
Weak security screening for airline personnel
The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association, which represents LAX airport police officers, said in a statement that the case shows why all flight attendants and other airport employees need to be screened.
The employee panicked, likely she could have passed through. TSA does not screen or test for drug smuggling, nor are they trained to, that's not there mandate - it's a matter of accidently finding it, secondary screening I guess would have found it as they inspected packages. 70 pounds - otherwise theoritically you could put a suitcase full of cocaine on the xray machine with no issue.

That's what concerns me most........weak security at critical points.
These are people that qualify with a GED. These are not retired LEs or retired FBI agents.
Yep. Loved at the airport I use to fly out of weekly, Since there were no dominant carrier the Airport Authority did Security. The Security were retired and part time, FBI, State Police, Local Cops.
So they cleared all of them out after 9/11 and in came the GED squad. Made me feel nice and safe...
Uh, FAs and Pilots are already screened, always have been. Now rampers, airport operations, and others are able to bypass with who knows what in their backpacks. By the way, the cops in the article are themselves NOT subject to search as well.
