I am sad for the athletes, but they should just blame their parents for being born at the wrong time. They can't even go and have unprotected sex for fear of having babies with little heads.
So it's a double edged sword Mr. Geek, you have a shot at the gold but would then need to get back home safely and in one piece with the medal. Suggestion, whether you are a Javelin Thrower or not wear "Team Javelin" training shirt and carry a Javelin at all times, you will not be perceived as a "soft target".
I wonder if the gold medals are still gold. A friend of mine earned one at the 1968 olympics and it was pure gold. At the time, 11 ounces of gold was worth about $350.
The articles that talk about the last Olympic venue Sochi being abandoned are mostly propaganda. The pictures are usually taken in the winter and early spring months outside the summer tourist season. The hotels are usually full then and all sorts of events are held at the venues. Formula 1 was just there not too long ago, and that is a multi million dollar event. London did a pretty good job constructing temporary venues for the more niche sports which are taken down shortly after everything is over.
People have a short memory. Every olympics it is claimed the host country is not ready but it goes on as planned.
Did the British Media buy Yahoo?? The same was said before the Beijing olympics too ...
When they have nothing else , they complain about pollution,corruption and rape ( if its India).
The Bejing Olympics, and Sochi were less than ideal. This one might just take the cake. Filthy water for the rowing events, crime ridden favelas, and the Zika virus. Good times.
I wouldn't go to Rio on an all expenses paid vacation for free! Its a crime ridden slum with a beach!
I'll be there next week, probably my 10th trip. Love it, it is amazingly beautiful and fun.
