So between the zika, filth/pollution, crime, and now a financial disaster, it looks like Rio is squarely in the load for the most dramatic host ever.

I feel sad for the few good people of Brazil but a lot of entitled bums there.

Now watch them run and cry to the IMF/World Bank.......but if Trump gets elected that bailout money could come to a stop.

What happened to their new buddy China that dumped so much $$$$ in?

Remember when Brazil was given lots of smoochies for its growth and smart economy? What on earth happened to that nation? The water for Olympics events is unhealthy, Zika is uncontrolled, the economy is in major meltdown, and the political leadership is at war. This looks like a trainwreck, sort of what America would look like if Trump stumbled into office.

Actually it's indicative of a Bernie Sanders administration. Personally I don't think the U.S. should compete in this years Olympics due to safety concerns that Brazil obviously can't mitigate.

Yeah but with Russia banned, this would be the year the U.S. can make out like bandits for the goldies.

They'll be there with bells on, polluted water, dangerous mossies, and pick-pockets in every bathroom be damned.

Actually, I've been to Rio and it isn't that polluted. It rains a fair amount there, and it's right on the coast, so the air is pretty clean.

Brazil was always a trainwreck. Some are just too naive to recognize that.

I think they were talking about the water.
