The Story:
A grinning Demetrius Watson or Eddie Vazquez told it to visitor like "it is" using his customary bad grammar mixed with expletives- By local "tradition", this city park, complete with its water fall and scenic over look belonged to him, and his loosely orgainized group of 30 or so friends and relatives from "da hood / barrio.
Later, the visitor was surprised to learn that Demetrius / Eddie and his group did appear to own the park. All "Trespassers" are attacked with thrown bottles or confronted with taunts. Others visitors would find themselves "accidently" run into by mountain bikes. Occasionally, the group beats up a trespasser. Others who arrive in groups are generally left alone, but find their cars vandalized.
Demterius / Eddie and his crew are smart enough not to wear "gang ware", yet as few work, are often seen loitering in the park together. They have even been allowed to construct a party shack in the park for their enjoyment.
But wait.... If this
were a bunch of low income losers of color with bad grammar, they would have quickly found themselves facing a dazzling variety of criminal charges and crimes committed by them would be aggressively pursued by local authorities.
As these losers are actually largely middle aged, high income (often from inheritances) white guys using correct grammar, their crimes and harassment of trespassing surfers gets ignored for generations.
