A man that should be allowed to earn his 32 million and not be part of a commercialized scheme to sell tickets.

He's paid to sell tickets. The baseball playing is only a means to that end.

How do you think he is going to get his $32 million if they don't sell tickets?

Cash, check, or electronic funds transfer. The fans are immaterial. Live attendance means nothing to these zillionaires ( pboth uniformed and in mufti). The league TV contract fills their coffers; the taxpayers fund their stadiums. They laugh at us.

When you can lock down the best LH battered in the MLB you can burn hundreds of uniform and still have a job and get rewarded if the team release you.

Uh, what do you think pays his $32 million contract. Can't have it both ways. Pro sports is business. You can't take an avg $6,500,000/yr contract and then complain about it being a business. That's just pure hypocrisy.

Exactly.

He's not paid to throw a baseball - he's paid to put asses in the seats and eyeballs on the TVs.

That's why every MLB contract is chock full of all sorts of off-the-diamond requirements. Players have to refrain from certain behaviors. They have to interact with the media to certain established degrees. They have to make certain appearances promoting the team and MLB in general. And none of these things are foisted on the players - they willfully sign their names to contracts agreeing to do so.

Give me $32 million dollars - I'll agree to wear nothing but this outfit for the rest of my life, and I will never utter a peep of complaint!
