The creepiest part about this is that it has been a recurring phenomenon since 1981:

NEW ENGLAND FOLKLORE: Evil Phantom Clowns

Also, this Wiki referance:

On May 26, 1990, in Wellington, Florida, Marlene Warren opened her front door to a brown-eyed clown bearing flowers and balloons. It shot her in the face, drove off in a white Chrysler LeBaron and was never seen again. Her murder remains unsolved.[20

There was some weirdo a few years ago just standing by the road in the middle of the night in a clown suit with balloons. A couple people almost crashed their cars.

Creepy, creepy stuff. Who the hell likes clowns anyway? I never did.

Maybe someone just thought it would be funny to put on a clown outfit and walk around int he woods and wave at people. Being dressed as a clown does not make someone perverted or dangerous, just because some people have odd paranoia about clowns (probably from movies), does not make clowns bad.

I was a professional clown during college. I have no evil intent, I just enjoyed clowning around with kids and getting paid (very well) for it.

When we had a gig, we used to have fun going through drive through, or walking through a mall, sometimes we would stop at a group of kids on our way home and make animal balloons for them like at an Ice Cream truck or a park. today we would probably get shot. Stupid Hollywood. Why take something silly and funny and fun for kids and turn it into something perverted and evil. Without those dumb movies no one would see a clown in the woods and immedately think "Kill it, child molester, murderer, pervert"

Well...how does a clown legitimately belong in the WOODS luring children? I'm sorry, but Hollywood or no Hollywood, that sounds wrong. Yeah, a clown at a mall or a park or an ice cream truck is fine. An open, public space. People still hire clowns for birthday party entertainment. But lurking in the WOODS?

And you do realize, don't you, that there are a lot of people who have always been creeped out by clowns? I always thought they were scary when I was a kid. Didn't like them at all. Those stories like Stephen King's played on something that was already there and then took it to a new level.
