A teenage girl who came to Britain from Poland was found hanged in her school toilets after being bullied and called a 'stupid Pole' by other pupils and told to 'go back' to her own country, an inquest heard today.

Mrs Przybysz said there was one particular gang of girls that were causing her daughter problems.
I have a really hard time with all the bullying that goes on. When I was a kid we would have gotten swats at school for any misbehavior. And, if you were being bullied you could count on your teacher taking the bully to task.
Our schools, parents and concerned adults evidently all over the World we are all failing to protect our children.

KIDS can be vicous! Did the mom discuss the problem with school authorities earlier on? I wonder if anything can be done about persistent bullies.
The article says she was popular, but there were bullies who tormented her. If she was popular, why couldn't she focus on the positive, and spend more time with her friends, and blow off the bullies? There's something missing from that part of the story. I also wonder if there wasn't a school counselor or nurse she could confide in.
It seems to me that the bullies were jealous of her good looks. It's an inescapable conclusion.

That girl needs to start practicing MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai, etc.
One thing bullies don't like is to feel punishment or pain.
She's dead, now. But it might have been useful while she was still alive. There must have been recourse that she didn't avail herself of: a school guidance counselor, a trusted teacher, the school nurse, somebody! And why didn't the parents try to talk to school admin? She called a family member the morning of her death, crying, but wouldn't say what the problem was? She thought they wouldn't understand? Why wouldn't they understand? This is heartbreaking! She reached out, but very ineffectively.

Yeah, I don't get this. The school must have had resources for troubled kids. She seems very mature; why didn't she seek out those school resources?
I'm also mystified regarding the use of the word "racism" in this case. I suppose she didn't know what else to call it.

Xenophobia? Bigotry? Anti-Slavism?
I like to hear some input from the British members of this forum about their take on racism and anti-immigration violence in the aftermath of the Brexit vote.
I wonder if immigrants from the Mid-East are told to go back to their own countries.
