slightly better than the oven story, but only marginally.

A 325-pound (150-kilogram) Florida woman is charged with killing her 9-year-old cousin by sitting on the child as punishment.

Veronica Green Posey, 64, was arrested and charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child, The Pensacola News Journal reported. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office report identified Posey as the girl's cousin.

Paramedics and deputies responded to the family's Pensacola home following a 911 call Saturday. Posey told deputies she sat on Dericka Lindsay as discipline "for being out of control."

Mike Carroll, secretary of the Florida Department of Children and Families, issued a statement that called the child's death "appalling." He said the agency will work with the sheriff's office to hold those responsible for her death accountable.

The FDCF had prior contact with this family. Too bad they didn't "work with the Sheriff's office" before the child died. And the people involved didn't know that 325lbs on a 9 year old child for 10 minutes- plus an extra 2 minutes for good measure would suffocate the girl? Are they really that stupid? They need to arrest and prosecute every adult that was present when this happened.

In light of this tragedy, it's a minor thing.... but just how does a 64 year old woman have a 9 year old cousin?

Obviously the appropriate punishment is, if found guilty, the perpetrator should be slowly crushed to death.

I'm sorry, I just can't get past the fact that the last thing that poor child saw and smelled on this earth was an enormous butt. Jeezus.

She might be a 2nd or 3rd cousin. That's my thought. But there are always other possibilities:

That would be an aunt/niece relationship.

I remember, a good belting was a suffice punishment for being "out of control". I see we have adopted other methods.
