I closed it shortly after I opened it. It is not for me. Thumbs down.

I can't even imagine bringing myself to do that. I started my Facebook account back in 2009, when I was a 14 year old freshman in high school. Nine years later, as a 22 year old college senior, I have way too many accumulated memories to shut it down. In addition to that, I have 2,068 friends at last check. If my account were to be shut down, I'm not afraid to admit that I'd be depressed for a VERY long time.

I can't do away with my Instagram, Snapchat, or forum-based social media accounts either!

What bothers me is the apparent fact they track your conversation (apparently via phone). Stuff you never research or buy suddenly pops up in your adds after you talk about it in a phone call or just a discussion.

I talked to my doctor today in his office about a concern I had. I have never mentioned it or looked it up online. When I got to work, ads for that issue were popping up on my Facebook account.

When I first heard these allegations, I thought it was tin foil hat stuff. However my family is seeing an awful lot of it to just be coincidence. My son bought something at Wallmart the other day. Never mentioned it online. Suddenly his Facebook account filled with related ads. I am still not entirely convinced this could be real, but it sure looks that way. If it is they are breaking a lot of laws (HIPPA for one). Could this be true? It is hard to believe they woudl go this far.
Yeah, that's pretty creepy.

What I really hate is how easy it is for people to find you online. I like my privacy. That's why I backed out of FB years ago. I only wanted to find out what my daughter, and her family were doing. And that seemed to be the only way to do it . I didn't want to be bombarded by a bunch of people I don't even know, and my grandkid's friends, etc, and have to listen to their conversations. I didn't want all of them getting into my business, and learning about my life. It was just too much. I mean, come on, the only reason jr high, or high school kids would want to befriend a grandma is for the numbers.

You can create a profile with pictures if you so desire. And you can network.

Before I answered this, I went through your recent posting history.

You're doing the exact same thing on CD that other men do on each other's back decks with a beer in hand.

Chatting. Opining. Socializing.

Except you can't see the people's faces you're talking to.

What? I don't make up my profile on here, or anywhere. I'll skip over things, but what I do say is the truth. Why would I lie (make up stuff) about myself? Being vague/obscure is one thing, but lying about yourself is quite another.
