She was sentenced to looks like 15 years for her part in the kidnapping. She has spent 15 years locked up. She is now 72. Why should someone spend the rest of their life in prison if they were not sentenced to life?
Shes a nutcase, and whats to say they dont realese her partner in crime now too? They hook up again anothergirl l gets kidnapped or worse. I don't think the prison knitting class or library reformed either of these fruitcakes.

Absolutely unbelievable. I don't care what excuse Barzee used for being a part of Elizabeth Smarts nightmare. I hope Barzee suffers a long, painful death and soon.
Apparently, she won't be welcomed in any of her family's homes, so she'll likely end up on the streets. Even her own sister thinks there's a strong possibility that she'll harm someone.
The sister of Wanda Barzee, who helped kidnap Elizabeth Smart 16 years ago, says she will not be welcome at her home or any immediate families home when she is released from prison on September 19.
In an exclusive interview with 2News, Barzee’s sister, who did not want to give her name, said Barzee is not fit to leave prison.
“She’s mentally ill. Terribly mentally ill, and she’s very manipulative,” she said.
In 2010, just after Barzee pleaded guilty and was in a prison psychiatric facility, some of her children went on the Oprah Show. Barzee’s daughter LoeRee Gayler told the story of the time their mother, while married to Mitchell, killed and fed them her pet rabbit for dinner.
That Rabbit story was sickening. Brian also got kicked out of a house party he crashed, and was on the lawn putting a curse on the house to bring it crashing down. I remember that story and thought how thats a special brand of crazy.
