Good for him!

When I was working as a contractor -- NOT a building contractor, but as a non-employee -- several companies tried to stiff me. I can relate.

If this happened in the US, I bet majority of people would immediately label him a criminal, they would try to say he is a danger to public safety, put people at risk, blah blah blah.

He will have been arrested for criminal damage, however I think most people would ave some sympathy as you expect to be paid for your work.

The moral of the story is 'pay your workers properly'.

Refreshing to see this, big organizations need to understand that employees are not pawns to be used. They are human beings who deserve pay for their services and expertise. Do you expect the man to feed his children tile and carpet?

I'm pretty much always owed money, but it's between me and the main contractors. I don't go around destroying the property of innocent third parties.

Would you support your mechanic smashing up your car with an axe, because their boss owes them some wages?

Not the same at all. It would be more like the mechanic smashing up the mechanic shop -- Not other people's belongings.
