I can't believe she didn't take her phone. I do wonder if the dogs picked up her scent at all and why the search was called off. Did they bring in any dogs that search for remains? I'd be curious if there was remains scent in her car and if there is any video that she was seen on. Right now it's just her fiance's word that she left to hike. You just never know if someone is telling the truth these days...

Maui police found Eller’s white Toyota RAV4 in the reserve parking lot around 9:50 a.m. on Thursday with her phone and wallet inside, USA Today reported. The search included helicopters, drones, hundreds of on-foot volunteers and tracking dogs, according to USA Today. Offshoots of the main trail contain steep drops, and the treacherous terrain features creeks, brush and ravines, complicating search efforts.
Maui Fire Department has suspended its search for Eller, but said it would assist in police efforts if there is new information

In reading her missing poster, her family states that leaving her cell phone behind is typical for her.
Also, the way they located her car was that a member of the fire department noticed her car was there the day she went hiking, before she was officially missing. So when she was reported missing, her car's location was immediately known. Rings true.

According to the FindAmanda facebook page, her boyfriend was picked up for work by a friend at around 8 a.m.
A mothers day package from her was mailed at the post office around 10:30 a.m., and there is surveillance footage of her car leaving the post office parking lot around that time.
That was her day off.
To me, this story sounds exactly like what it is. That she went for a hike, and then something happened to her there in the park.
Accidents happen. Some of the most skilled hikers/climbers/etc. have died doing what they excel at. It only takes a split second. It's absolutely possible.
