Actually, and I know I'll get flak, but I agree with her attorney's argument. The boys were 17 and 18, above the legal age of consent. I don't think she should been prosecuted. I don't really agree school faculty should fraternize with students, but I believe in people being free to do lots of things I don't necessarily agree with.
A smart teacher keeps the clothes on and doesn't kiss, date, or have sex with students. This is not a teacher I would want teaching my children. She does not make good decisions. I don't care what the law says. If the students were over 21, I wouldn't care. At 17 and 18, they are still high school age.

I don't disagree but she still shouldn't be prosecuted. These 17 and 18 year old are not helpless and are just as "guilty" as the adult in this matter.

No, they're not. They're teenagers, and teenagers many times make wrong decisions. We expect it from them because they're still young. Teenagers are expected to test the waters and the boundaries.
The teacher is the authority figure with all the power. Control and decency must piggyback that power. Society needs to insist on it, not make excuses for her, and not to blame students with whom she sexually engages.

Jeff Epstein was a physics and math teacher. He was having sex with teens at his school. It only got worse, as it was ignored. Epstein and other pervert teachers need to be locked up. They should not allowed to continue for decades.
If it were legal to sleep with students, more perverts will become teachers.

Are you a teacher? Your defense of the guilty teacher in this makes it seem like it hits home for you.
age of consent in alabama is 16. so what crime did she commit? this looks like a gross abuse of her rights.
makes sense for the school to fire her though.
