If this was your bath, what color would you paint the vanity. I'm thinking a dusty/faded blue, frameless glass shower and then accent with fresh, fuschia flower arrangments on the counter and bath. Also like the idea of stenciling a pink flower stem on a couple of the walls...

Yeah, I'm with loves - I don't like that wall color. Get something that contrasts more with the white fixtures.

I like it like it is. I would probably bring in a little more color with towels or decorative items, plants etc.

I'd leave the vanity white; change the countertops to granite and do the frameless shower. Or I would paint the vanities a deep chocolate brown and make all my towel rods/fixtures/new shower door handle OBR....also light fixtures.

Oops. I should have mentioned the wall color, counter tops and lighting will stay for a little while. Before we move in, though, we'd like to completely re-tile the shower and install frameless glass. Until we install dual, furniture-style vanities, I thought I would paint the existing vanities a color that would compliment the wall color...

Why bother if you're going to rip them out?....

What is your timing? If you are going to re-do it all at some point, I would paint the walls instead of the vanity. The faded blue color you said in OP is pretty hard to get right (IMO) without it looking too country. I would do the walls first or just leave it alone. Also, if the vanity is the composite/pressed board, I am not sure it would be easy to paint.

Good luck.

It may be a year or two or more before we get to the vanity, flooring and tub... Saw painted cabinets in another house and liked the effect.

We'll see. I think I'll just wait until we get settled in and live in the space for a while. Then, we should have a better idea what we want to do design-wise.

Thanks for all the feedback. Helps to think it through, hearing other folks' thought process...
