As I may have mentioned before, I have lost more than half my body weight in the last 2 years. As such I have had to replace my entire wardrobe more than once in that time frame and it is outrageously expensive to keep paying retail prices, even at low-price shops.

Can anyone recommend a good consignment or thrift shop in Dallas where I can get some gently-used duds? I have a "good" job and a good-sized paycheck but I am sick of spending all this money on clothes.

Thanks in advance!

There is one in Far North Dallas at Campbell and Coit in the shopping center behind Raisin Cane. There are several others as well around. Also find out about all of the ladies clothing warehouse sales. Two that I go to are Central Falls (on Miller Rd just west of Plano Rd) and Ivy Jane which is down off of Regal Row and I-35. You have to get on their email lists to find out when the sales are. When I see the emails for the next one I'll forward you the info

There's one on Mockingbird (just east of Central) next to Whole Earth Provision that has a good selection of career-minded clothes.

Clothes Circuit on Sherry Lane for consignment. Go on Saturdays for the "Yellow Banana" sales- extra 20% off! Lots of designer clothes, but if you turn left when you walk in, tons of Ann Taylor, Banana, Macy's etc clothes, too.

Salvation Army store on Inwood & Harry Hines. You have to dig, but there are great cheap finds there, like $5-10 items.

Congrats on your weight loss! (Tell us how please LOL)

What about Ross, Marshall's, and stores like those?

Well, there is a "shopping forum" going down and lots of posters there recommend going to Goodwill.

Wonderful question!! I, too, am "half the woman I used to be" and have given away enough clothes to outfit two counties! (I refuse to keep things too big for me....afraid I'll be tempted to grow back into them!). The clothing issue gets expensive...especially when even your shoes get too big! So happy to have this list of consignment shops - most of the ones I've been to, however, have very few pieces more than size 12 (yes, I know that sounds huge to some of you). I picked up a new-with-tags denim jacket at Goodwill this morning for $4.49.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! Gave reps to all.

As for the weight loss...persistence, patience, proper nutrition, and lots of exercise. People who know me don't believe I didn't have surgery, but I didn't. And it's a lot of effort to maintain too. But it's worth it!
