I found Dallas to be very nice. It would depend on what part of Dallas (city or suburb) that you are speaking of. The suburbs are made up of various towns which are quite nice. The only thing I do not like about Texas is all the driving that has to be done to get from one point to the other. The state is sooo big.

You go, boy!!

Sorry, I don't follow your posts. I'm sure I've read them, but I often don't pay any attention to the user names.

I think you missed the point of my post, but I would like to know what you do with the native Texans when they bash each other's cities. Do you "let them have it" too, whatever that means?

I give up. No one wants to answer the question I posted several posts back. I guess the answer won't coincide with all the fantastic comments that are made about the state.

Cedar Hill is a lovely suburb of SW Dallas and has Joe Pool Lake.

I drove from Mesquite to Arlington on 635/20 and was amazed at the amount of greenery and hills! anyone who states theres no natural beauty in the metroplex need to get out once and a while and actually see what this area offers before making blank statements. Even the inner city neighborhoods of Dallas have a lot of greenery. I just dont understand where the "dry, dusty, brown prairie" comments come from?!? are these people just trying to be mean and ugly and spread hatred? I feel theres a great mixture of forests, prairie and lakes around DFW to create a diverse landscape. It all doesnt have to be covered in a thick forest like you see in southeastern U.S. cities.

I wouldn't describe Dallas as pretty in a general way; but there are very scenic areas specifically off the main highways. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Several of my favorite ares are North Oak Cliff and Cedar Hill. There are some beautiful neighborhoods with hills and old growth trees.

Now I'd like to know what happened to consistency. Last I heard, Texas was still one big state, not split into seven states. Now the Prairies and Lakes (Dallas) don't like the Gulf Coast (Houston), the Piney Woods don't like the Panhandle Plains, the Hill Country doesn't like the Big Bend Country, and no one likes the South Texas Plains.

For those that brag about Texas and love it so dearly as many born and bred Texans proclaim, why isn't all of it loved? Where is the TEXAS pride of which is often spoken? Where is the friendliness of which is constantly boasted?

Remember all those non-Texans that fought for Texas' Independence? My goodness, how they would cringe that those born and bred here, and love to brag about it, would say anything negative about any of Texas' regions.
I guess this is your question that no one will answer, so I will do i for you.

Texas is a family. In a family, the parents fight, the children fight, the pets might fight, parents yell at children, children are upset with parents. Let someone pick on the little brother or some parents yells at your kid for no good reason. What's going to happen? A crisis occurs? The family will stick together.

So as a brother, Houstonites and Austinites are some arrogant pricks that overstate the good aspects of their city to a sickening point. If someone brings some Atlanta or Phoenix garbage in here to put down Houston, I'm on Houston's side. Otherwise, screw them and their dirty, overrated cities

Cedar Hill and Joe Pool Lake is probably the prettiest area of Dallas.

White Rock Lake is the second prettiest area of Dallas.

Grapevine Lake is the third prettiest area of Dallas.

People have many green areas to choose from.

Architecture and infrastructure of the living areas varies in all areas. For example if you like skyscrapers you can live in the city of Dallas.
