I live in a house with a garage conversion. The previous owners chose to put a fireplace where the garage door is. That's fine and dandy, however this room is the one without natural light. I don't want to just put light fixtures in it. The rest of the house is bright. To put a in brand new window, would have to cut thru the stone etc on the side of the fireplace--there is enough space. Or put in a skylight--folks have also suggested those tubes thru the roof. Has anyone done either one?

I had a friend who did the tubes (lived in Miss.). She was quite happy with the result and I liked the soft light they provided.

Thanks for your reply. Did she put more than one in the room?

I remember one in the bathroom and 2 down a hall. Not sure about the bedroom if it was 1 or 2.
