We need to drive into Dallas tomorrow for dinner but can't leave Hurst til after 5--
What is realistic drive time to get to Lakewood area north of Tennyson golf course...
Don't think we will use toll-lane on 183...
Any big problems from 183 to 30??
Google maps shows construction and road closed in that stretch...

Wow that's a tough one. Excepting the toll lane, I'd guess sans wrecks and at a little after 5 that drive will take 50-70 minutes. I'd agree taking 183 is the best route but I'd be tempted to pay a toll.

We have never had reason to use 183's toll lanes but from what I see driving on 183, they seem ill-designed and because price varies by traffic volume, they seen expensive...
We have toll tag--can afford to use but they are only for segments of the road--then feed you back into traffic...often at high density points...just stupid design IMO...

Agreed and I don't understand it why 183 hasn't been more of a priority for a full R&R.

It has seen some renewal efforts--part of that gave us the goofy toll lanes...and took forever

Irving has some really nasty areas -- no stripes--bad surface--lots of uneven dips that make driving at speed (which every car is doing) a little iffy...
