Thanks for your thoughts and ideas, I don't know why I pictured Dallas urban life to be in downtown like here in Denver.

I'll check all the areas you mentioned on my visit on May.

I also suggest living slightly out of downtown. The rents are higher and you are just going to create a commute for yourself. Dallas' downtown isn't really "where it's at" anyway--the "hip" areas are Uptown, Knox/Henderson, Lower Greenville, etc. Many SMU students rent in the M Streets area, we we live. (Wish the idiots wouldn't park on both sides of the street and block traffic--pet peeve)

We can walk to a ridiculous number of restaurants & bars--shopping is just a mile or so away. The Village is great, too.
