Yes, I saw one of the bird shows in May, and it was awesome!

It's much better than it used to be. No good reason to trek all the way over to Ft. Worth anymore.

Honestly, my oldest is 5 years old. I know of zoos that I think are better and worse. However, to her, it's a fun experience and more than can occupy her in a day. I honestly don't think she makes any judgement in that regards. She can easily go several times in a year and love it each time.

So do I! Speaking of loving the Dallas Zoo. I gave some much needed TLC to the Dallas Zoo's Wikipedia page. I uploaded some of my photos in addition to editing the existing text. I separated the existing text into ZooNorth, Wilds of Africa and Giants of the Savanna. I also added the Awards, Conservation and Transportation sections. I know...went a little crazy I guess. I'm sorry but that thing read like an obituary before. LOL They had some very outdated photos (one was from 1974) and jumbled info about the zoo. The article also focused on everything bad that has ever happened there. So, I thought I would give it an update and bring it into the 2010s.

Was at Fort Worth zoo last week - fairly impressive, but I've seen better.

I was very, very impressed by Dallas World Aquarium this week. Went in not knowing what to expect but I thought it was extremely well-designed, especially the indoor zoo area at the start. The one complaint is that some of the interpretative screens were pretty poor ("These fish are orange with white spots" - yes, I can see that, since I'm looking at them... how about telling me why they evolved that way or what they eat or something?) Would really recommend the aquarium to anyone.

Today is Dollar Day! This is perfect weather to enjoy the zoo IMO!!! Unfortunately, I can't go today but I am okay with that since Dollar Days attract massive crowds.

I believe the bird show only runs from March to September or so.

Has anyone ever done one of the zoo's overnights?

Predator Encounters was scheduled the same time as SOAR, so we went over to the Giants of the Savanna instead.
