New to Allen, TX and we need to add a simple covered patio to our backyard. Any recommendations on companies or how to go about this?

Thanks!

if you live in a neighborhood with an HOA you probably need to check your ARC info to see if you need to submit request to your HOA's ARC before you go forward with construction...

I would check Angie's List--if you don't belong, you might check Better Business Bureau for patio/outdoor living

You may also need a building permit. City of Allen :: Building Inspections (http://www.cityofallen.org/departments/building_code_compliance/ - broken link)

Contractors Allen is a good free website for checking business reviews.

I know our covered patio was put in by DeckMasters. The previous owner put it in, so I have no idea about the cost, but it seems to be well-made.

Hey Melissa,

I've had 2 patios (arbors) built in Allen. My "go to guy" on all things landscaping is Ryan Aradiz. Give him a call - he just finished building an arbor at my home in Twin Creeks. Great prices/quality work. Ryan's cell: 972-679-4827.

Thanks for your help everyone. We used your recommendations and I feel good about a couple of the quotes. We are looking forward to the improvement to our backyard and I appreciate the input!
