Hi all, I've been perusing the forum and picked up some helpful info, so thx upfront. First, a bit about us: Married, 40s, w/ two kids (<3) who have lived on the West coast for last decade.

Looking for good schools (Lovejoy, Highland Park, etc) with nice neighborhood feel somewhat near Plano (work), .33 acres+, and some architectural charm, and price range up to $1.1M. I'm not totally adverse to McMansions, but prefer a bit of variety and some space btwn houses.

I've driven around Stonebridge and Fairfield...wasn't sure if I saw any town center in Fairfield, but would love to hear your thoughts on neighborhoods, developments and any other areas we should be considering. Thx in advance and btw, I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan (Tom Landry was one class act), so at least that will be one less adjustment for us.

Try Parker. It is part of the Plano ISD, neighbors two Plano golf courses (Pecan Hollow & Los Rios CC), acreage available, custom homes, etc. Parker has no true "town center" but is close to lots of shopping (mostly strip centers) and not far (7-8 miles) from Firewheel Town Center (outdoor mall in Garland at 190&78).

You might like my neighborhood, just north of Preston Hollow in zip code 75230. Nice mix of McMansions and ranch styles. Affluent but not snobby. Prob get more for your 1.1 since you aren't paying for the name candy (unless that's important to you.)
