We would like to have all of the locks in our new home rekeyed, so that we only need 1 key to access all of them. Can someone recommend a good locksmith that is also affordable. I have 1 quote from random place chosen out of Internet for $250 for 4 doors. I don't know if this is reasonable, outrageous or cheap.

I use michael's on Hwy 26 in Colleyville/Hurst (Tarrant county). They have techs that travel throughout the metroplex.
They may have a store closer to your place as well.

Not sure what part of town you're in, but we had six locks rekeyed to the same key when we moved into our home in late September, and we paid less than what you were quoted. We used Steve Huber with A-ABC Locksmith in Garland and he was great. We found him on Angie's List.

Just take them into Home depot and the will re key them for you way cheaper than a lock smith.

Ask your RE agent, they undoubtably know someone and if you use the agent's name you will get faster and possibly cheaper service. My agent recommended someone who did 3 doors for $60.

Texas Lock and Safe. They are on Jupiter in Plano and serve Richardson. Reasonable and good service. Used multiple times at home and my business.
