I'm from Houston so I'm used to seeing ethnic restaurants in almost every block. I'm visiting Dallas and while the southern food is very good, i haven't seen any good exotic restaurants.

In-N-Out Burger is Cali culture. Does that count?

Dallas is going to be Burgers, Tex Mex, Pizza and Yogurt.

You're in the wrong part of town, or you're not looking very hard.

Pretty much every Asian cuisine is represented as well, though the best are in the 'burbs ~ Richardson, Plano, Carrolton.

Why would you come to Dallas and expect it to be Houston....Dallas has plenty of ethnic restaurants, they're just nicely placed within the neighborhoods in which they are located. Since you're not from here it would be easier to google the type of food you are lookin for so you would know the neighborhoods to seek out.

Come to Plano and you can have your pick of chain, local or exotic restaurants. Some of the best Chinese, south Indian, Middle Eastern, Italian, Mexican and Mediterranean food places in Texas.
