Hello my name is Katrice and I am strongly considering moving to Dallas, however I know nothing about the Dallas area. I Currently live in South Bend, Indiana (Notre Dame) town. However, I have always lived in the midwest area my whole life and I am ready for a change. I know that it gets very hot in Dallas and that is a concern to my family members because I have Asthma and my son has Allergies. My asthma is not affected by the heat, more so by the cold weather and sudden changes in the season.

I know that relocating to Dallas would mean more opportunities and more things to do. There is really nothing to do in South Bend and know where to go. I hope that there is a Texan out there that can shed some light as to where is the best area to live (South Dallas, North Dallas, East Dallas) etc....

I still have time to consider the move. My moving date is not until June 2014.

Can someone please tell me is there a big difference in Dallas / Fort Worth?

I have looked at relocation guides and online, but there is only some much you can get from books and readings online. I guess what I really want to know is, what its like to live in Dallas.

Thank you in advance.

What's your job? Is your company transferring you? What's your budget?

The DFW metroplex is huge, bigger than some New England states put together. There are nice areas all over. You need the job first unless you want to drive 3 hrs/day back and forth.
