There is a house with a basement on Potomac in the park cities. We looked at the house because it was beautiful on the outside and inside and was a short sale by a builder's bank (bad location, but still in park cities' school). In short, it had a basement that leaked water. They had tried for over a year to fix the problem, but they could never fix it. Tons of experts trying to fix it, but alas, no luck.

Thus, they could not really sell the house (it would never pass a home inspection). Therefore, there was basically an auction. Someone bought the house at a big discount, but will play hell trying to sell it in the future.

Way out of my budget but a very lovely house. They should post a picture of the basement, its a unique feature.
