Hi, we just relocated from Seattle to Dallas area last year and bought a house then, in a cul-de-sac neighborhood. My house is the first house and some of my windows facing to the sidewalks, the community road. We are taking care of the lawns and trees on that side and they are all covered by my sprinkler system. It was a great living experice since recently.

One of my neighbor seems to like dumping his garden waste on my curb, when I tried to talk this issue with him. He told me that city allow him to do so because my house is the end of the aisle. He said there is a code( or something) allowing neighbors to dump bulk trash at the end of aisle. Actually, I would be totally cool with this if he informed me in advance and I would be glad to help. But he never did, it's so annoying to be surprised every couple weeks by his junk sitting directly on your curb!! We are new here and the first time homeowner, per my experience, I never know such rules. do you guys know anything about the code thing our neighbor referred for Dalllas county? ??? He sounds pretty firm. Is it real??

I once talked with one of HOA guys, he felt sorry for us but he said this is the issue between neighbors, he can do nothing about it. He mentioned that I would be responsible for the area even if it was not my trash, and I have to clean them up if there is any left overs. I just cannot believed so.

This time, this neighbor has parked his old spare car along my curb for a whole month, constantly. I just cannot take it anymore, what can we do? Can we call police for help?? Thanks!!!

That's a hard one and hopefully someone on the board may be familiar with said code. Are you IN Dallas, or a suburb? I have what I refer to as "The Coors Light Bandit" that visits my house a few times a week. For some reason someone leaves a Coors Light bottle on the side of my house on random nights. Sometimes up to 3 times a week while others it will go weeks without anything. I've learned to just clean it up when I see it.

We are living in suburb. Yeah, we've learned to clean it up, too.

I think listing the suburb might help in people finding if there is any kind of ordinance as they change from city to city.

Call your city's Code Enforcement department and ask.

I think he is FOS and you should call the city but not the cops.

Also this is why living in a neighborhood with a weak HOA can really suck. A strong HOA would make him move the car or haul the car away within a few days and no way no how would be be allowed to pile anything in front of your house excepting a real emergency.

I live in North Dallas if one of my neighbors piled yard/garden waste on my curb I'd move it to their front door.

What town do you live in?

No one is asking for your address. What town do you live in?

Dallas, TX - Report potholes, graffiti, street light out, and other community issues. - SeeClickFix

Call 311 for the city

Call 411 for police non-emergency

It seems like you've done all you can. I'd contact the city, but investigate what the rules on these things are first. Each city is different. If your still not satisfied then you need to contact law enforcement, and they will have the vehicle towed.

Hi, guys! I called city, the lady told me that, literally , he can dump his trash at city area which means he can dump trash around the alley, which is city property. I asked, if he dumped bulky trashes there, he probably would block the road , and that is the only way out for the culdesac. She said that is his problem then. The representative said city can get involved by sending him notice if he put his trash ON MY property. I'm speechless now.
