Yes. Northwest Hwy often backs up at the Tollroad all the way back to Preston/Thackary...even Hillcrest if there's a wreck and not just the usual backup. Royal moves much faster and doesn't backup nearly as badly at the Tollroad (maybe 2 cycles to get through the light vs 4-5 cycles at Nw Hwy) just watch out for the school zone by Dealey because there's usually a cop just past the light at Tibbs.

I commuted from near White Rock up to 121/ Tollroad for several years. Trust me, that is the quickest route to cut east-west during rush hour.

Generally agree with TC, but during the summer (before school zones kick in), we also use Walnut Hill. That is sometimes less congested than Royal.
