Thinking of relocating to either Houston or Dallas from DC. Which of Houston or Dallas has a bigger single professional Indian community- any ideas?

Incorrect.

There are more Indians in the Dallas area than Houston. Data of Indian population is below:

By metro area:

DFW: 124,641
Greater Houston: 110,176

By city:

Houston: 28,542
Irving: 27,223 (Dallas suburb)
Plano: 22,939 (Dallas suburb)
Sugar Land: 12,767 (Houston suburb)
Richardson: 10,701 (Dallas surbub)
Dallas: 8,847
Frisco: 5,501 (Dallas suburb)

As you can see, the suburbs of Dallas have the highest concentration of Indians in all the Southern US and DFW is top 5 in the US in terms of largest Indian population having passed LA recently.

Dallas also gets a lot more international immigrants from India than Houston. In 2013, the number of international immigrants:

DFW:2,905
Greater Houston: 2,308

If your asking where there are more Indians, the suburbs of Dallas is the clear answer.

Both metro areas are roughly equal in size (give or take a few hundred thousand) and the Indian population is not all that much bigger in DFW.

You won't struggle to find Indians in either metro area.
