I am looking to relocate from Pittsburgh to Dallas and one of the reasons is the lack of sunshine up here. Periodically I look at the weather in Dallas but it seems to be very cloudy lately. Is that the norm in March? I know Dallas is sunnier than here but do you often get these horrible stretches of 5 days in a row of no sun? Even in winter?

The weather is variable. It's rare to have extended stretches of grey.

I've lived in Pittsburgh and now DFW area after growing up about 85 mlles from here. No comparison. Pittsburgh is gray for long stretches while this area typically is not. I know another couple who moved here from Pittsburgh. They confirm my expressed view. We moved from Houston to DFW area and the biggest difference in weather is more clouds in Houston as well as more rain and hence humidity. Even when defy gets rain it often is not gray and cloudy all day. The fronts that move clouds and rains here tend to move them out quickly with clear low humidity weather a few hours later.

Summers are hit here in part due to few clouds in summer time. When we moved to Pittsburgh in March my wife claims it was nearly 90'days before we had a sunny clear day.

Come on down, I think you will find the weather, especially the short mild winters a benefit.

You'll be begging for a cloudy day for a 5 month long stretch (May-Sept) if you move here. You'll be fine

The weather we're having right now is an anomaly (that I'm tired of! bring on the sun).

It's usually very sunny here.

That's what I kind of figured. We're having an anomaly up here too.... Sunnier than normal. Can't complain though

Please not wind. I just recently noticed the hands of some co-workers and I am not the only one whose skin is chapped to pieces.

April and May, when the temperatures are nice, are extremely windy.
