I hardly get 2 bars inside my house. Talked to att rep and he said the only option would be to buy microcell for $150 plus $75 mail in rebate. I live in N Garland. Anyone else experienced the same problem? I was told I live at the border of all the nearby towers and not on a fully covered location. It switches between 1-3 bars when I move from room to room. Also they said they cant guarantee reception inside houses, buildings etc.
I stepped out of my house and walked to the middle of the street, still 3 bars.

Is verizon any better?

Did you just get a new AT&T contract? We had this problem and when I threatened to leave within the (2 week?) cancellation period, I got the microcell for free. No more problems.

When we had Verizon, I had the same problem. Threatened to leave because they couldn't give me the service I was paying for and also got the microcell for free. The key was documenting dropped calls and proving that reception outside of the home was as bad as inside

Thanks msooner. Unfortunately I am not new cust, been through att for around 8 yrs now.the issue started since we moved to our new house.we have matured trees around and not sure if that's a factor. I was told there is a tower 2-3 miles away but no use I guess.

I would request the extender as mentioned above. Also does your home have radiant barrier? Sometimes that can hinder the signal. Do you have wifi at your house? If so I wouldn't be too concerned with the reception you're getting. Calls shouldn't be affected, just data.

AT&T doesn't do WiFi calling yet, so the signal affects data and voice.

What I was saying is that you should be able to place and receive calls just fine with 2-3 bars. Data will be slowed with those signal levels, but calls should not.

My house has the same issue with 1-2 bars, and I can hear people fine, but they say I am garbled.

Doesn't matter, ask to speak to a supervisor and raise a big stink. You will get it for free or at worst, they will offer one to you at 50% off.

It's already at 50% off with a $75 mail in rebate. But I agree, you could probably get one for free.
