Hi everyone,

I had a pest control company install the Termite monitoring stations around the perimeter of my house recently and wanted to get some general information as I started to have second thoughts after the installation. Your help is much appreciated.

1) Will these monitoring stations “attract” termites? Don’t have any issues with Termites now, so don’t want any problems to start to creep in due to this. Any experience with these?

2) In case of any activity from Termites in these station(s), do I have to disclose this during sale or do I only disclose if it attacks the home?

Thanks so much.

Our house had monitoring stations installed when we purchased it. I spoke to our inspector and a termite specialist about them at the time. Both were skeptical they provided any real value.

I've kept an eye on ours, but have had many break off or need to be replaced. I've simply removed them and just relied on visual inspections and the occasional pro who treats our house to take a look as a better alternative. YMMV.
