Denton will be the best option for you so you don't have a horrible commute. It's not a small town anymore! The only other option would be Fort Worth, but that would be a long drive...

Thank you for your reply. We love Denton and it's an option but we're looking at other places too. We'll be renting before buying a home and apartments are mostly rented by college aged and that worries us. At least what colleagues are saying since the university is growing so much.

You can also try living near one of the A-Train stations, and use the train and a short bus from the Denton station to get a nice, easy, stress free commute. The A-train from its southernmost station to UNT takes about an hour, including the wait and transfer to the bus.

The Vista Ridge area where our son lived in that apt had a bus link to Denton that was resonably close to their apt---his girlfriend at the time would use it sometimes since she worked at UNT in registrar's office (I think) and got some kind of reduced rate...
