Agreed. Having a hobby helps network anywhere

Put yourself out there - I was sitting at home complaining about missing my old bunco group in our previous community and my husband said "make one here". So I posted it about it on the Facebook website for my community and almost 100 women replied with interest within 3-4 hrs. We wound up creating 2 bunco groups that are still going on today. This was over a year ago and tonite I'm going to happy hour with a subset of the ladies in my bunco group. My group is 15 ladies who live in a few blocks radius of each other who would have never been friends if I didn't go out of my comfort zone instead of sitting on my couch complaining and each of them went out of their comfort zone to reply and actually show up for bunco.

Thanks for the one-year update. Glad to hear things are working out for you and the family. Dallas, to me, is an underrated city but I suppose that's fine for those who live there. Although, there are many people moving there from California for many of the qualities you mentioned.

I agree. If I had 10 times more money, I would probably live in CA for things to do and weather. For now I am OK with just a yearly vacation to CA.
