Hello,

I am from Arkansas and contemplating on moving to the Dallas, Tx area in a couple of years. I am an Accountant at a local university and am going to be applying for some accounting jobs down there after my daughter graduates from college in a couple of years. I have my BS in Accounting and am scheduled to take the CPA exam in a couple of months. Can anyone from the area tell what the accounting job market is like in the big D? Thanks

The accounting market in the DFW is very very good! In fact, one of my friends is a recruiting manager for Robert Half and he tells me they have a shortage of experienced accountants in this area. lot's of companies here, lot's of jobs and very competitive.

babs7907,

What kind of Accountants did he say that there's a shortage of? I am an Accounts Payable Accountant for a local university. Ive been doing AP for about 2 years now. Every time, we come to Dallas to visit, we have soooo much fund I get kind of depressed knowing that we have to come back to this backwards state of Arkansas! Thanks for the info!

Your best best would be to look at the area you'd want to move too in the DFW metroplex and then searching for Accounting jobs. DFW is huge, and jobs are plentiful if you are in the right area.
