Do you have a unique and irreplaceable skill? If not, why would your employer continue to pay you above market rates?

Warm Caribbean beaches are just 2 hours flight from Dallas. Good way to spend some of the money that you will save

There are no guarantees with jobs these days - you could go into the office daily and still be replaced!
Unfortunately it's the mindset now. I work for a medium sized IT company with resources out of the US, India and Vietnam. Recently we just acquired a new customer and some of their IT employees. Our lead in India flew to LA to help relieve some of the mundane tasks from the new team, and everyone started to lose it. We anted to take away the boring tasks from our new employees to open them up for greater opportunities and potential, but it seems like many in California are worried about offshore resources. I had to make an emergency trip to L.A. to calm everyone down.
