My boyfriend and I are an interracial couple planning to move to the Dallas area. We are trying to find a balance between his desire for nightlife and lots of activities and my desire for a quiet, peaceful neighborhood.

Mesquite has been suggested; any other or alternate suggestions?

What's your budget?
Where will you both be commuting to for work?

If you are looking for nightlife, Mesquite wouldn't be at the top of my list...

Why a suburb ? Plenty of interesting places in Dallas city limits.

As stated budget is always a major factor. Other one is work location and commute. Schools are usually up there as well.

Hate to be that person, but what does you all being an interracial couple have to do with finding a suburb of Dallas that fits your needs...?

Where is the job? I would only recommend Mesquite if your jobs are there.

I would suggest Addison, Cedar Hill, North Garland and east Plano. Cedar Hill is the farthest away but most scenic

Nightlife and Mesquite?
That's like night clubs and Wylie.
Having lived in Richardson, the only nightlife we experienced was going into Dallas.

Lemmon Ave. M streets, Knox Henderson area,
OAK Cliff. Lovers Lane area.
There are some nice quiet places around these areas which are close to nightlife.

It would be better if we knew your situation like commute to work if applicable and children...

Without knowing that, Ill assume yall are sitting on a lot of passive income (so anywhere will do) and have no kids..

Irving (Las Colinas), Addison, Mesquite, NRH, HEB, Grapevinr, Parts of Grand Prairie, Parts of Arlington, Cedar Hill, Carrolton & Farmers Branch should all fit the bill

It's hard to answer your question without knowing your budget or where you will be working. I live in Mesquite but would not recommend it for anyone seeking the night life. In-fact I would not recommend any of the suburbs. I would look at the Village (series of apts along central) or the downtown/uptown/Cedars area. Either would put you in the heart of the action.

If you want close... not close enough to be in the heart of the action, or far enough that its typical suburbia bore...and its interracial couple friendly (I think most of the DFW fits that bill).... Las Colinas
