I swear some people act like this road is the autobahn.

Where is the police presence on this toll road? Since this is a toll road why cant they have a dedicated constable like how they have in houston around beltway 8?

This road is straight ridiculous at times

Because there is not a place or curb where police can put a cruiser and wait, specially between downtown and 635. The regular commuters know this.

Keep out of the left lane and life will be better for both of us.

DPS has jurisdiction on the DNT.

Good luck teaching the entire metroplex how to drive.

My nephew just got his license. TX doesn't even require a class to get it, just "parent guidance" aka we are all forced to sit behind morons in the left lane.

I see people cruising LBJ Texpress at 100+ mph every day.

That's just how people here drive, i.e. like idiots.

Policing traffic creates a bad impression of the police department, costs a lot of money of expensive resources (officers), and increases the perception that police are not stopping the real criminals but instead hassling Joe on his way to work. Much police speed protection in DFW is actually backstopped by federal grants for dangerous intersections, not something individual departments choose to spend much of their budget on.

So expecting more cops to patrol any of the roads looking for speeders just isn't going to happen until those areas become dangerous enough to get on a federal listing.

I only speed when I'm driving my German car. Any other time I go the speed limit religiously.

(Disclaimer: We only own German cars.)

I was born in Dallas and learned to drive on Dallas roads. The tollway has been like this all my life. Get used to it because I doubt it will change anytime soon.
