Have visited several times northwest of Dallas and never see new townhomes available. What's up? Lots of apartments only.

For new expensive townhomes in suburbia you have to look in Plano near Legacy.

You may see more townhomes in coming years, DFW area built more townhomes between 2011-2017 than they had in last 50 years. As lot sizes are shrinking while home prices and traffic is exploding, more folks are looking at this option.

I think the town house gives you the worst of semi-detached construction combined with the worst in SFH ownership.

In my opinion a far better option is the zero lot line house. No shared walls or equipment, so Sammy Subwoofer next door won't keep you up all night, and if the roof needs repair you can just get the roof repaired without having to beg a condo association or whatever; but minimal yard work and more reasonable pricing.

We have townhomes...Plano, McKinney, Farmers Branch, all over 75219, Irving, Coppell, Lewisville, 75235, Dallas, Richardson, and plenty of other places.

Where do you want to live?
What do you want to spend?

Having lived in dallas for a long time, I would avoid the townhome phenomenon before the great recession they got popular and when the economy nose dived the developers abandoned the projects before they were completed.

I would rather buy an older house that is in a completed development before I buy a new townhome.

Go look at older townhome values over the last 20 years compared to single family homes.

Builders are paying 4 - 6% commissions to agents to sell these products

There are ample townhome options in the DFW suburbs - you're just not looking closely enough or haven't spent enough time here on your visits.

The primary townhome builders building communities in the suburbs north of Dallas are CB Jeni and Megatel. No, they aren't as common as single-family, but they are available. Look on the above 2 builders websites, and you'll see their communities.

CB Jeni built in Frisco in the Canals neighborhood and is building a similar style townhome on the west side of Allen. There's a new 'luxury' townhouse community on the west side of McKinney, and there are also townhomes near 121 near Castle Hills and in Flower Mound. These are just a few examples, but there are plenty of options.

CB Jeni is selling alot of townhomes all over DFW . They have 2 communities in Mckinney where I live. They are cheaper to buy then new single family so they are doing really well. I was surprised they would sell so well in Mckinney.
